A MANGOTSFIELD pub has been praised for its charity fund-raising efforts.
Andy and Chris Rockliffe, who run the Red Lion, were hailed for their successful pub quizzes in aid of the Great Western Air Ambulance Charity.
The pub also holds charity quiz nights every Wednesday and is currently supporting the Time is Precious charity, which gives money to hospitals in Bristol and Bath.
It also holds events for Fishponds and Downend Rotary Club, the Make a Wish Foundation, and Hillfields Baptist Church, where Andy and Chris were married last year.
The couple, who have been at the Red Lion for two years, pride themselves on running a community pub, with darts, pool, crib, and bingo as well as discos and music events and family-centred activities. Their menu includes Jamaican as well as British food and florist Chris even sells flowers from the pub.
