Activities at Downend Baptist Church

WE give a very warm welcome to all ladies at our fortnightly meeting of Ladies Enterprise. (Charge is £1.50.) We have a varied and interesting programme where we travel the world with our speakers as well as travelling back in time eg our first five meetings starting on
September 11 Country Characters with George Alway
September 25 Mercy Ships with Roger Lancaster
October 9 Norfolk Lavender with Sue Coles
October 23 A load of old Rubbish with the SITA team
November 6 Photographic Show with John Parsons
Occasionally we have a practical demonstration (flower arranging or cooking) and an evening where we learn a new craft. We hold an annual carol service at Grace Court. At present we support Paul’s Place (based at Coalpit Heath) as our Charity.
Most members of Ladies Enterprise are Senior Citizens with between 25 and 35 coming each evening. Our meetings are fun and friendly within a Christian atmosphere.
We’d love to see you. Please contact our minister, Andy Machin on 9701058 or email@example.com if you want more details or just come along at 7.30 on the Wednesday evening.
Twice a month we meet for silk painting sessions - you don’t need to be an artist - all you have to be able to do is hold a paint brush, guide it into some paint and then on to some silk. We often decorate the Church with our finished work. At present the charge for a silk painting session is £3.50 (for materials). In October we are meeting on Wednesday 16th from 7pm until 9pm and on Friday 18th from 2pm until 4pm.
The Church holds a coffee morning every Friday 10.30 - 11.30. Come and join us for a chat and laugh (About 18 people pop in for a tea or coffee) and we have just started a tea and chat on alternate Monday afternoons from 2.30 to 4pm (September dates are 2nd and 16th).
You can park your car in the Co- op car park or you may find a space in the roads around the church
