HUNDREDS of people are expected to congregate in Page Park this Saturday (June 24) to celebrate Armed Forces Day.

The free event, which starts with a parade at 11am from Page Road, is a tribute to the past, present and future military forces from air, land, and sea units. The parade includes veterans, cadet groups, bands and military vehicles.

The procession will end in the park where a drumhead ceremony will be held by a local reverend.

There will be stalls, stands and activities in the park including a large display of military vehicles and weapons and singers and bands will perform on the bandstand.

Charity stalwart and singer Frankie Johns will be continuing to collect pennies to reach his 1,000,000 penny target for the charity Help for Heroes.
