Bless you! Youth group thanks Co-op shoppers

SHOPPERS at the Co-op in Downend have contributed more than £5,000 towards youth work at Christ Church.
The money comes from the store's membership scheme, which benefits local good causes. A large proportion of the £5,324.31 donation will go towards CCTV and improving security at the church's youth hub in North Street.
Christ Church provides eight free youth meetings every week in term time, all run by volunteers. Hundreds of young people came through the doors in 2017, so much so that one of the groups, Thursday night’s 8-9.15pm Ignite+ for Years 9, 10 and 11, had to be capped at 50 members. An online booking system has been set up at igniteyouth-christchurchdownend.co.uk
Youth leader Diane Paddon said: "Year on year, members of the church are very generous in supporting the youth work, but it has been a real blessing to have community groups supporting the youth with generous donations. We are hugely grateful for this very generous cheque and for the on-going support from the Co-op in Downend."
