Borrow a bike at children’s centre
Published on: 05 May 2014
FAMILIES are now able to borrow bikes from Staple Hill Children's Centre to go exploring the area.
Four adult bikes are available, two with child seats. There are also trailers for use with adult bikes and balance bikes for toddlers.
The new cycle hub has been funded through the Local Sustainable Transport Fund and delivered in partnership with Sustrans.
The aim is to support families to give children a healthy start in life.
Wendy Rycroft, development leader for South Gloucestershire's children’s centres, said: “We’re very pleased to be able to offer this new facility to local families.
“The new cycle hubs will offer wonderful opportunities for parents to spend more time with their children while getting active and having fun. They will also have the chance to build their confidence through cycle training to help them explore beautiful South Gloucestershire by bike.”
Cadbury Heath and Yate children's centres are also cycle hubs.
