Cleve looking for top four finish

NEW head coach Ryan Davis wants to see Cleve RFC aim for a top four finish this season in the competitive South West One West division.
The 28-year-old is back where it all began as a mini and junior before he went on to appear for England at under-16, under-18 and under-21 levels as well Bath and Exeter before injury cut short his career.
And he now wants to bring all of that experience to bear as he bids to make his mark as a coach with former Exeter team-mate James Scaysbrook alongside him, working with Cleve’s forwards.
Davis remained in close touch with the club, even while he was away playing professionally, and says it is good to be back ‘home’.
He said: “I know the people and the support system is all there. I began my career as an amateur so hopefully I know what it feels like from a player’s point of view, while we’ll be bringing something from the professional environment.”
Cleve open their new season away to Matson on September 6 before hosting Camborne on September 13.
The club then face a long trip to St Austell on September 20 ahead of hosting Thornbury in a Bristol Combination derby on September 27.
