Didn't they have a lovely time?

A TRIP to Wales was this year’s annual outing for the Mothers’ Union & friends from Christ Church Downend.  Forty-nine women, and, yes, men, took a coach to Cardiff Bay and LlancaiachFawr Manor for a day of sightseeing and enjoying good company.

At the Manor the staff and guides were dressed in 17th  century costume and spoke in 17th century English, but there was no disguising the fascinating history of the place which changed its allegiance during the Civil War, or the beauty of the gardens.

As has become traditional with Mothers’ Union outings, the trip ended with a Welsh Cream Tea.

Usually the MU are supporting various projects in our community as well as raising funds for MU charities throughout the world, so this day out was a welcome break.

If you would like to know more about the Mothers’ Union, which meets monthly on a Wednesday, please get in touch via the Parish office 0117 908 9867.
