Do you love reading?

DO you love reading? Would you like to connect with others in your community and share your love of reading with them?

South Gloucestershire Library Service is taking part in an innovative community project - called South West: Region of Readers - with six South West library services.

With support from Arts Council England, the project is being developed with The Reader, an award-winning charitable social enterprise working to connect people with great literature through shared reading.

As part of the project the library service is looking for Reader Leaders for Staple Hill Library. Reader Leaders would facilitate a weekly shared reading group at the library. They would receive full training from the Reader and on-going support from the Reader and the library.

A meeting will take place at Staple Hill Library on Tuesday June 27 from 2pm to 3.30pm to introduce the project and explain more about the volunteering opportunities available.

The meeting will give an introduction to The Reader and Shared Reading with a special shared reading taster session to see what it’s all about.

If you are interested in attending, please email the library at staplehill.library@southglos.gov.uk or call 01454 868006.

If you are interested in volunteering but are unable to make the meetings, please call Samantha Weaver from the Reader on 07812 238 532 for an informal conversation about becoming a Reader Leader.
