EVELYN Hillier, 92 years young from Mangotsfield, is raising money for the Bristol-based Penny Brohn cancer charity.
She was due to join her daughter Debra and close family friend Pete on their last leg of the 102-mile Cotswold Way.
Debra and Pete have been raising funds annually by doing long distance walks that have included the Three Peaks, Hadrian's Wall and South Downs Way. These walks have been in memory of Andy Boulton, Debra's husband, who died in 2011 with oesophageal cancer.
Evelyn said Penny Brohn were very supportive during Andy's illness. “While I am still able I will do what I can in raising much-needed money so that other cancer sufferers can benefit.”
