Exciting revamp gets under way

Published on: 28 Oct 2016

WORK is under way on the transformation of Badminton Road Methodist Church.

The ambitious revamp of the 1950s building will enable a permanent church worship area within the building as well as play areas and a more regular café.

The minister, the Rev Pearl Luxon, said it was very exciting to see the refurbishment - known as the Creations Project - coming to reality.

“It will be great to realise our vision at last, but the building work is just another beginning for this place.

“There's lots more work to do afterwards making the church outward facing and a place for the community as a whole.”

The plans also include a redesigned car park and landscaping, with more easily maintained planting along the roadside bank. It is hoped that further outdoor improvements can be made.

This will require further fundraising - and already supporters are showing great generosity, having raised more than £15,000.

To support the project,  send cheques, made out to ‘Badminton Road Methodist Church’  to the Rev Pearl Luxon, 25 Westerleigh Road, Downend BS16 6UY, marked for ‘Creations’ with an address for gift aid form, email minister@badmintonroadmethodist.org.uk or treasurer emmanew@badmintonroadmethodist.org.uk - for direct payment BACS details.
