Eyes down ...

Staple Hill Community Bingo is held every Tuesday evening at Staple Hill Primary School in Page Road. The group is celebrating four years there this May. It started in 2012 with just between 30-40 people per evening but now has between 80-90 “bingo goers”.
This is all thanks to the small committee of seven. They include Bob and Mary, who come from Frampton Cottrell. Bob is the main caller and Mary makes the cakes and teas. Joan is in charge of the raffle. Rose is also a bingo caller and does all the odd jobs. Sue is in charge; she sells the bingo books and arranges all the special events such as those held at Easter and Christmas. Ronnie is in charge of the Tuck Shop - all profits made go towards the Christmas Special evening. Last, but not least, is Joy, who passed away on May 14.
Ronnie said: “There are many more people who are always willing to help. We are a happy club and always have lots of fun! Staple Hill has a lot to offer whether it be day or night.
“We would like to thank Staple Hill Primary School for all their help in the last four years and may we have many more to come.”
