CHILDREN of Mangotsfield C of E Primary School and their families have been busy collecting food for the Resound foodbank in Mangotsfield.

Sainsburys in Emersons Green lent the school six trolleys so that the children in each house could see who could manage to collect the most items of food. Pictured are three children from the winning house who were able to fill their trolley with 100 of the 400 items collected by the school as a whole.

Also pictured are Claire Collins and Phillip Budd of Resound foodbank, who gratefully received this donation.

They explained to the children that this food would be distributed to needy families in the local community and this linked to the message delivered by a Year 5 class in their assembly, which highlighted how lucky some of us are in relation to those who may not have any food in their cupboards.
