Family affair at brass band event at Christ Church

TROMBONES are at the ready for a family who will perform at a brass band concert in Christ Church, Downend, this month.
Father and son Nathan and Reuben Jenkins,from Downend,  will be joined by Nathan’s uncles Steve and Don  for a quartet appearance.
Reuben is also a member of Brunel Brass, the successful band headlining the event, as is another local youngster, Luke Campbell.
Brunel Brass, formed ten years ago, has won several national and regional titles and will represent the south west at the national championships this year for the fifth time.
It is a band that supports the development of young players.
The concert on Saturday July 16 starts at 7pm and tickets (£5) are available from Christ Church Parish Office (Mon – Fri 9.30-12) or from Alan Campbell 07740739600
Proceeds from the concert will be shared between Brunel Brass & the six Mission Partners supported by Christ Church Downend; Chernobyl Children’s Life Line, Children of Clarens, Christians Against Poverty (CAP), Church Mission Society (CMS), Mercy Ships and Open Doors.
