Fourth in table after good run for Mangotsfield

Published on: 21 Dec 2016

MANGOTSFIELD United were in fourth place in the league at the start of their hectic festive programme. This followed a run of five wins and one defeat.

Martin Preedy, from the club, said: “I’m probably tempting fate, but we  have yet to draw a match this season!”

The most recent signing for the Mangos is goalkeeper Steve Phillips, who has come on a month’s loan from Bath City.

The club are looking forward to hosting league leaders Hereford on January 10 (kick off 7.45pm). Other home fixtures are Bishops Cleeve on January 2, third-placed Evesham on January 14 and Wimborne Town on January 28.

Off the field, the club was burgled in the early hours of Wednesday November 30 and some cash was stolen. Martin urged anyone with any information  get in touch with the police. "Thankfully, we were able to open for business straightaway,” he said.
