Friends of George V park update
Published on: 12 Aug 2015
The Friends of King George V and Badminton Road Playing Fields apologise about the cancellation of our Picnic in Park owing to wet weather. We hope to hold another event when the new Gym in the Park equipment is installed and hopefully the sun will shine! As the picnic was to offer the second public consultation on the landscape Masterplan we have asked for the deadline to be extended to 10th August. This will be your last chance to have a say about the landscape plans for the playing fields so please visit the South Gloucs council website on this link to view the plan and make your comments www.southglos.gov.uk/consultation
The new monkey bars are installed and it is lovely to see so many people of all ages enjoying the park. The buggy walks continue and the Downend Silver Walkers will start on 20th August meeting 10.00am by the pavilion (Sutherland road entrance). If you know anybody who might be interested in these gentle walks with a cup of tea and chat please contact 01454868744 for more information.
We hope everyone enjoys the open space and respects the lovely facilities but if you see any suspicious or anti social behaviour please report it to 101 with descriptions of the people/ vehicles.
We would also like to add a gentle reminder about clearing up litter and dog poo!
Our next meeting is 7.00pm Monday 7th September in the Pavilion, Badminton Road Playing fields, Sutherland Avenue. Ffi please contact email@example.com
