Fun in sun for all at Mangotsfield Festival
Published on: 30 Jun 2014
THE 22nd Mangotsfield Festival has been hailed a huge success.
The sun radiated down as thousands of visitors soaked up the atmosphere and had some fun.
Festivities kicked off with a colourful parade which left the village green at 10.30am and snaked its way to Cleve Rugby Club.
Popular attractions included a hobby marquee with more exhibits than ever, stalls, racing cars, playbus, fairground rides, wood carvers and a climbing wall.
A graffiti artist drew lots of attention and visitors armed with spray paint tried their hand at graffiti art.
Entertainment included Bristol Morris men, maypole dancing by local schools, Del Boy, RedX Dance, Phoenix Allstars, Dinky Divas, Disco Divas and Tribal Fantasy belly dancers.
Live music pounded from the stage all day featuring sounds from Bristol Ukulele Jam, The Wires, DJ Buzzy and Kick the Cat.
Chuff chuff the train was even on hand to take visitors around the festival.
It was easy to see why the festival is so popular - there was something for everyone culminating in a spectacular firework display to mark the end of the festival.
Simon Budd the Festival chairman said “The festival committee would like to thank everyone for helping to make the Mangotsfield Village Festival 2014 so successful.
