C In The Park, Downend’s free day of worship and family fun activities, returns for a third year – by popular demand.

The event on June 22 takes place at King George V playing fields in Downend and begins with a mass open air parade service at 11am, including members of all local uniformed organisations.

The day is organised by churches from Downend, Bromley Heath, Mangotsfield, Emersons Green and Staple Hill.

Visitors are encouraged to bring chairs, blankets and picnics so they can stay and enjoy a programme of performances from schools and organisations between 12.30 and 4pm. Refreshments are available too.

Giant inflatables and a climbing wall are among the attractions and there will be other activities for children and adults to enjoy without charge.

Paul Peterson, chairman of the organising team said: “C in the Park provides a great opportunity for people of all ages to come together and have a lot of fun – and all for free. The leaders of local churches are offering this event as a gift to the local community, and it’s great to see so many churches involved.”
