Going for a song!

SONG Titles was a vast subject for the latest Lincombe Barn Camera Club competition and resulted in entries covering several decades of well-known and obscure titles.
The imagination of the photographers really shone through – and the visiting judge made many awards.
Ian Hingley was awarded first place for 'American Pie', an image constructed from a still life, cleverly manipulated in Photoshop. Ian willingly let everyone into the secret of how the image was created. Among the other entries, 'Memories are made of this' conjured up childhood reminiscences of trips to the seaside, while 'Over my shoulder' was a well observed quick grab shot where the passer-by has just realised that the creature on the wall has its eye on him!
The club's new 2016/17 season begins on September 14 when members will show images from their summer photography. New members are welcome at any of the club's Wednesday evening meetings. Details of the programme can be found at www.lincombebarncameraclub.co.uk.
