Happy times for Fellowship group
Published on: 02 May 2017
CHRIST Church Fellowship from Downend enjoyed fun, fellowship and good weather when they went for a weekend break to the Fishguard Bay Hotel, Pembrokeshire, earlier this month. Leaving early on the Friday morning, they were treated to tea and welsh cakes, on the way, at Carmarthen by the Mothers’ Union there. On Saturday they visited the Fishguard museum, to see the beautiful tapestry depicting the last French invasion of our shores, followed by lunch at Scolton Manor. In the evening they enjoyed a real flavour of Wales - a concert by the Haverfordwest Male voice choir.
The Sunday was a more reflective day, with a celebration of Holy Communion, led by Rev Jo Vickery, Vicar of Christ Church, in the hotel, followed by a trip to St Davids and Solva, and for the energetic, a short coastal walk. A Quiz with a Difference was arranged for the evening.
Returning on the Monday, via Carmarthen for coffee and shopping, and Cardiff for a carvery meal, they all return to Downend – tired but safe and sound! The Fellowship group is always happy to have new members. They usually meet on the second Tuesday of each month at Christ Church Parish Hall, next meeting is Tuesday 9 May at 7.45pm and plan a weekend away for the whole group once a year.
