Hollie’s jump in aid of Clip Up for Conor

BRAVE schoolgirl Hollie Lawrence is preparing for her first bungee jump in support of a Downend charity.
Hollie, 15, will leap 160ft from a crane at the Lloyds Amphitheatre in Canons Marsh on Bristol Harbourside on August 18.
Her jump is set to raise funds for and awareness of the organisation Clip Up for Conor, which aims to encourage young moped riders and motorcyclists to make sure they wear their helmets properly.
It was set up by the family of Conor Hall, from Downend, who died aged 16 after a moped crash two years ago. He had not fastened the chin strap on his helmet and his family discovered that other young people were putting their lives at risk in the same way.
They have run a high=profile campaign about the safety issue.
Hollie, a pupil at Bristol Metropolitan Academy, said she had been shocked at the death of Conor, who was a family friend and wanted to do the bungee jump to support his charity.
“I have never done anything like this before,” she said. “Sponsorshire is going well and my family and friends will be supporting me on the day.”
