Hundreds enjoy C in the Park

THE theme of the fifth C in The Park was Peace and hundreds of people flocked to King George V Playing Fields in Downend to enjoy a happy day together.
As the sun shone down on the crowds, Pendennis Good News Church led an uplifting act of worship and Neil Todman shared his personnel testimony that encouraged everyone to consider that while life can sometimes be tough, there is always the chance of hope and peace if you believe and trust in Jesus. During the service children from Mangotsfield CofE Primary School sang and the service concluded with prayer and a blessing of peace.
From noon onwards a varied programme of entertainment was provided by local schools and groups who sang, danced and provided music for an appreciative audience. Around the field were a variety of large inflatables, games and craft activities for children and young people to enjoy and for those wishing to be refreshed there was tea and cake.
All activities were free as the whole day was supported by local councils and resourced and funded by several churches from Downend, Mangotsfield, Emersons Green and Staple Hill .
