It’s all happening at King George V playing fields!

Published on: 30 Jun 2015

FRIENDS of King George V and Badminton Road Playing Fields have a new logo designed by Rebecca Konteh – it includes the King George V crown so keep your eyes peeled for it on all of our notices from now on! We also have a new email address for any enquiries:
Why the new image? We are going to public consultation regarding the Master Landscape Plan which outlines planting and landscaping plans for the future and to give everyone the opportunity to comment.
Leaflets have been posted to all properties on the playing field boundaries and will have been available at C in the Park as well as at Downend Library.
The second opportunity to view the plan will be at our Community Picnic in the park on Sunday July 12 from 12noon – all welcome – bring your own picnic and sample the delights of the pop up café in the pavilion. There will be traditional games and races so fun for all ages.
The Bump, Baby and Buggy walks are going well (2nd and 4th Mondays of the month 10am Westerleigh Road car park) and we are looking for volunteer leaders and participants for Downend Silver Walkers which will be a gentle walk around the playing field on a tarmac path with company and a cup of tea to round it off. If interested please contact or Carly Urbanski of the Walking for Health Project on 01454 868744
Finally a big thank you to Great Western Round Table whose Dragons awarded us £3,000 to add to the existing gym in the park equipment – this will allow anybody to access gym equipment seven days a week during daylight hours for free!  Our next meeting will be September 7 at 7pm at Badminton Road Pavilion and we welcome new members.
