Join Big Tidy Up at Page Park

FRIENDS of Page Park are calling on residents to help muck in to support a Keep Britain Tidy campaign.

The group is organising The Big Tidy Up on Saturday March 25 from 9am-12.30pm and would love for you to join them to spruce up the park.

Jobs include picking up litter, washing down railings, and cleaning the bandstand, children's play equipment and park benches to make sure the green space looks its best for summer.

Everyone is welcome. You may need a bucket, sponges or cloths and rubber/protective gloves.

Meanwhile visitors to the park are able to witness the exciting progress being made following the £1.6million lottery grant to improve the 19-acre site.

Steph Purser, vice chair of the Friends, said: "Building work on the cafe and community building is now taking shape and you can see what it is going to look like.

"The Clock Tower is looking amazing after being restored and the bells retuned.

"Work is also taking place on the tennis clubhouse, which will provide a centre for volunteers and a base for future sport initiatives."

The Friends have been busy organising a series of events which will take place throughout the year. Among them is The Big Lunch on Sunday June 4 when families and friends are encouraged to bring a picnic to the park and enjoy the outdoors.

All information on events and what else is going on in the park can be found by searching for Page Park on South Gloucestershire Council's website,

You can also find out more from the Friends of Page Park website, as well as finding information from Facebook and Twitter.
