King’s Oak becomes all-through academy
Published on: 07 Sep 2015
Welcome to King’s Oak, which this September is opening as an all-through 4-19 academy. This is the first all-age academy within the Cabot Learning Federation.
We are excited that a parent could choose a CLF Academy for their four-year-old, knowing that they could remain in a CLF Academy until they have completed their A-levels.
This is an amazing opportunity. Our first cohort of reception children have beginning their education at King’s Oak and we are looking forward to seeing this phase of the school grow over the next few years.
At King’s Oak the students are at the centre of everything we do. We are building a school where right from the start of their journey: from reception through to Year 13 they are engaged in high quality learning.
We want all our students to be successful, happy and to achieve their very best. We are passionate about King’s Oak staff, students and parents working together ‘in pursuit of excellence’. This means we are working hard every day, as an academy and across the Federation, to ensure our students leave us as confident, responsible young people.
We would like to encourage you to come and visit us to find out more. We have a number of planned opportunities for this in September but we would welcome you at any time during the year. Simply contact the academy office for a tour.
King’s Oak students have performed well again and a significant number are moving on to university.
Interim principal Mandy Milsom said: “We are delighted that our average points per qualification has improved this year for A-levels again and really pleased that almost all our students leaving Post-16 have successfully secured the university place of their choice.”
Students celebrated some very good individual GCSE results. Outgoing principal Ian Frost said: “There have been some excellent achievements by Year 11 students this year who have worked incredibly hard and deserve their success. Well done to them, the staff who have worked with them and the parents, who have provided massive support for their children.
“The academy is now entering an exciting new phase”.
King’s Oak Academy is oversubscribed in Year 7 for 2015.
Our primary phase has opened with 60 reception places.
