Learning community is a big success

A NEW preschool in the heart of Bromley Heath is celebrating after being judged as Outstanding for personal development, behaviour and welfare in their recent Ofsted report.
Wrigglypeeps preschool, who were previously known as Quakers Road Playgroup, have only been registered for a year but within that year they have really made their mark.
Since taking over the preschool, manager Sarah Meyers – a qualified teacher with 20 years' experience working with children - has ensured an excellent relationship with the other preschool and nursery in the area and together they have set up a learning community which meets termly to discuss a range of matters and arrange fun events.
Sarah, a mother of three, said: “We are so pleased with our recent Good Ofsted report, especially the Outstanding rating for personal development, behaviour and welfare, as this has always been the most import thing to us!
“We always try to make every day a bit different at Wrigglypeeps and this is one of the reasons we set up the learning community with Bromley Heath Infants, Bromley Heath Badgers and Great Expectations.
“Through the learning community we have had so many fun events. We have had a huge community campfire, which involved forest school activities for all the children. We have held a sports day and most recently a teddy bears picnic which the children loved. This is something we want to continue in years to come.”
As well as celebrating their Good Ofsted report, Wrigglypeeps have some more exciting news as they reveal they are due to take over Bromley Heath Badgers preschool in August.
Bromley Heath Badgers is currently a committee-run preschool which relies on parents to become part of the committee and run the preschool. It can be challenging to recruit enough parents to help run a setting so Sarah was approached to take it over.
Sarah said: “It just seemed to make sense as we work so closely to work together with amazing and enthusiastic staff and our commitment to the children and families in Bromley Heath to provide quality preschool education.
“The preschools will run in the same way from September but in the future we hope to merge together. It means we will continue to share fantastic staff, good practice and provide a fantastic start to the children’s learning journey in Bromley Heath.”
Wrigglypeeps Preschool runs at Christchurch Hall, Quakers Road and opening hours are Monday 9-3, Tuesday 9-3, Wednesday 9-3 and Friday 9-12.
