TWO young Downend cricketers have made it into the squad for Gloucestershire’s Emerging Players Programme.
George Haynes and Callum Loud are among 13 boys and two girls who attend specialist weekly training sessions in Bristol and Gloucester led by Tim Hancock.
Tim, who is Gloucestershire Cricket Board’s head of performance, said they had been selected based on their performances in county age group and their potential.
Over the winter the squad will receive strength and conditioning support from trainers from the University of Gloucestershire. They will also have the opportunity to take part in specialist sessions led by top coaches, including county bowler Tom Smith, ex-Glos allrounder Paul Muchall and Second XI coach Steve Cashmore.
Downend’s Naima Milhofer is part of the Gloucestershire Girls’ EPP, which is in its second year.It is run by GCB coaches Lisa Pagett and Luke Sellers.
