Mangotsfield 'is on the up'

MANGOTSFIELD School is an example of the underperformance of South Gloucestershire schools over time, councillors were told.

Will Roberts, chief executive of CSET, which now runs the secondary, told councillors Mangotsfield had had six consecutive grade 3 inspections (the second lowest) from Ofsted over 20 years.

“It is not a bad place,” he said. “But it has not performed as well as it should have done over two decades.”

He said the academy was now making good progress and was confident that inspectors would see improvements when they visit.
