Mangotsfield preparing for next season after mid table finish
Published on: 04 May 2016
MANGOTSFIELD United are already looking forward to 2016-17, which will be the club’s 65th season.
The team finished in mid table after a season of mixed fortunes, but the last few games saw some encouraging performances which will give manager Dave Mehew and his team confidence.
The Field were particularly unlucky to lose 1-0 to table-topping Cinderford Town, missing a penalty in the second half.
Chairman Mike Richardson said he hoped the side would be in with a chance of the play-offs next year and urged anyone interested to come forward and help run the club.
“To win at football requires a lot of sacrifice by everyone involved at the club, from the top down,” he said.
“Every week a handful of people somehow make tremendous time commitments to keep the club moving forward. We are always looking for new faces to join in, so don’t be shy in coming forward if you want to join a team of positive people.”
