Messy cook? Just what we're looking for!

SOME folk find cooking a meal for four people an ordeal while others don’t bat an eyelid at catering for hordes.
If you fall into the latter group and can spare three hours a month, Christ Church Downend would love to hear from you.
Sue Richardson and Kate Cox, who have cooked hot meals for the monthly Messy Church teas once a month since September 2015, are giving up because of work commitments so a new catering team is needed.
Anita Dobson, from the church, said: “We are looking for a couple of people or a team who enjoy preparing food and getting it out on time in front of a very appreciative audience. We have a team of helpers and washer-uppers to support, and some cooks who prepare food in advance on occasions.”
The Messy Church teas are seen as an important way of supporting families; giving parents and children a chance to enjoy crafts, fun and worship, followed by a hot meal.
Anita said: “It’s a great sight to witness families sitting together at the table, discussing their day, making new friends and enjoying having someone else to do the work for the grown-ups for a change. As well as mums and dads, we also welcome some grandparents bringing their grandchildren along too and then they take them home to parents tired but full and happy, and ready for bed.
