Mini zoo at Mama Bear’s

A NURSERY was transformed into a mini-zoo for a drop-in fun day aimed at informing people of free childcare options.
Mama Bear’s Day Nursery and Pre-school on Pembroke Road, Soundwell, brought in creatures including a spider, a snake and a lizard for the event on June 7. The organisation's mascot, Mama Bear, was also there.
The setting, which was refurbished last year, has capacity for 80 children agedv from three months to five years.
Owner Bev Driffield said: “We have found that many parents don’t know the childcare provisions available to them, which is why we are holding open days at our various nurseries for families to find out more. Funding is available for some two, and all three to four-year-olds to receive free nursery places, but the scheme isn’t being used to its full advantage.
“We’re keen for local families to meet our qualified teachers and nursery practitioners who provide the care and education to our children on a day-to-day basis. We are so passionate about what we do.”
Mama Bear’s was established in 2002 and now includes 19 nursery settings in Bristol, Somerset and Devon. For information, visit www.mamabear.co.uk.
