New-look squad aims to change Mangos' fortunes

MANGOTSFIELD United are continuing to rebuild after their dire start to the season and say there are signs of improvement.
Since the beginning of October, the team have won once, drawn three times and lost four matches.
Manager Wayne Thorne has a more settled squad after a lot of comings and goings. The current squad is: George Dorrington (GK), Jake Gardner, Josh Nelmes (Capt), Martin Stowell, Tom Warren, Ed Weeks, Jordan Williams, Andrew Carydice, Laurent Davis-Wilson, Jake Elliott, Robert Hicks, Charlie Maddison, Jay Malpas, Nick Peare, Jake Sinclair, Cameron Allen, George Lloyd, Kane Simpson and Jason Vincent.
Thorne’s management team includes David Seal, Lee Collier and Ollie Price.
Club spokesman Martin Preedy said: “The squad re-build effectively means we are about eight weeks behind most of the teams in our league and there are definite signs of improvement. We are still one off the bottom league wise, but the points gap between teams above us has shrunk in the past few weeks.
“With the festive period approaching, we have seven scheduled games in December.
Entrance to the matches is £8 and £5 concessions with all U16’s having free entry. No other club in the league has a lower admission price, so why not pop down and see what’s happening?”
The forthcoming home games are:
Dec 5 (Tuesday) – Cinderford Town (This one’s now on the third re-arrangement, so fingers crossed!)
Dec 9 – Didcot Town
16 Dec 16 – Taunton Town
Dec 26 – Yate Town – the eagerly awaited Boxing Day local derby
Jan 6 – Bristol Manor Farm – another derby day fixture
