THIS colourful mural now takes pride of place at the new-look Mangotsfield Church of England Primary School.
The piece was unveiled by the Bishop of Swindon, the Rt Rev Mike Lee when he visited to open the improved school building and playground. It depicts every member of the school family present in the year of the opening of the new facility.
To produce the outdoor mural, local artist Matthew Jeanes led the whole school in art master classes. He then reinterpreted the work ,putting the faces together to make one huge drawing of more than 600 people.
The new building boasts new classrooms, an extra hall, food technology room and dance studio. There is also an artificial outdoor pitch for sports.
Headteacher Marion Borland said: “We feel incredibly lucky to have this wonderful facility for our children. With the new cookery room, stunning new dance studio, seven new classrooms and new staff room we have a school that will allow us to continue achieve the very best for our children. Our children deserve the best and after a long and patient wait they finally have it.”
