PARTICIPANTS in the new parkrun at Pomphrey Hill in Mangotsfield are helping raise money for charity.
Those taking part in the 9am Saturday morning run on March 29 were being asked to support the chosen charities of South Gloucestershire Council chairman Ian Boulton.
These are the Bristol Aero Collection and the Neo Natal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Southmead Hospital.
Councillor Boulton was visiting the parkrun, and the two others in Little Stoke and Chipping Sodbury, meeting regular parkrunners and staff from local businesses and South Gloucestershire Council who had been encouraged to take part.
He said: “I asked people to either enter a run themselves and make a donation, sponsor a runner taking part, or simply to donate to these worthy charities.
