Pictures are a revelation

ALL photographers dream of having their work displayed in public, especially if they have a chance to explain what they wanted to capture in that special moment.
In an exhibition of photography at Bristol Cathedral, Downend and Frenchay residents are among the amateur and professional photographers who displayed their work.
Inspired by the word “Revelation”, contributors were invited to submit work in whichever way they chose, resulting in 31 beautiful images capturing life and faith from different perspectives: from a photo taken with an electron microscope, to a child playing on a windswept beach, to the patterns made in a dandelion clock.
The exhibition, which ran from May 19-31, forms part of the Bristol Festival of Photography and was organised by Chris Dobson, keen amateur and a member of staff at the Diocese of Bristol as well as at Christ Church, Downend; and Walter Dirks, professional photographer and member of Christ Church, Clifton.
