Poetry in locomotion
Published on: 30 Jun 2014
HAVE you explored the cycle track between Staple Hill and Bitton recently?
Perhaps you will be inspired by an innovative creation that involved children from The Tynings School.
They worked with a poet, Sara-Jane Arbury, to help create a collage of words inspired by the restoration of the track, the tunnel and Warmley Signal Box.
Pupils from two other schools were also involved and 21 children, staff and parents from The Tynings cycled to Warmley Station to join them for the launch of Poetry in Locomotion.
They performed the poem, accompanied by guitar music.
Others who worked with Sara-Jane included the community learning group and coffee morning members at Staple Hill library and passengers and staff of Avon Valley Railway.
