Police are appealing for witnesses and information after an aggravated burglary in Mangotsfield yesterday, Monday 9 June.
It happened at about 6.40pm in Ridley Avenue, as the householder was holding a beauty treatment party.
Two men, one with a baseball bat, pushed their way into the house and demanded money. They made off with a large blue River Island purse-style bag containing cash and bank cards.
The man with the bat was described as white and in his late teens, wearing a baseball cap and a scarf hiding his face.
The second was also said to be white and of similar appearance.
Police were called at 6.44pm and were at the scene by 6.53pm. Officers searched the area, supported by the helicopter, but found no trace of the suspects.
Neighbourhood officers have been carrying out house-to-house enquiries in the area and Crime Scene Investigators have examined the property.
Detective Sergeant Sue Parker said: “Witnesses have told us that the two men ran into the path of a car as they made off, and we’re very keen to hear from that driver. The ladies involved were all very much shaken, but thankfully no one was hurt.
