Police hunt man after serious sexual assault

POLICE have stepped up their inquiries into the serious sexual assault of a woman in Burley Grove, Mangotsfield.
It happened in the early hours of Saturday February 27 after the victim, who is in her 40s, had been out in Bristol city centre with a friend.
She was alone when she got into a taxi at the Shell garage - known as Silvey’s - at the city end of the M32.
There was a man already in the back seat of the taxi and the victim was taken to Mangotsfield.
She got out of the taxi and was walking along Burley Grove at about 2am when she was grabbed by an unknown man from behind and subjected to a serious sexual assault.
Police said they were still trying to trace the taxi driver, who they think might have been Asian. The man in the back seat was white.
Last week they released CCTV images of a man they want to identify as part of the investigation.
Detective Inspector Adam Bunting said: “Our investigation is focusing on trying to identify the man in the CCTV images as we believe he may have vital information for us. If this is you, or you know who it is, please call us.”
