Pop along for park's Pumpkin Patch day

Published on: 02 Oct 2017

FAMILIES are being invited to pop along to Page Park and take part in an autumnal fun day later this month.

Friends of Page Park have organised a Pumpkin Patch event on Saturday October 28 from 11am-3.30pm.

People can take part in a carved pumpkin competition by bringing along their own creations.

There will also be a fancy dress competition for youngsters. This will be split into two categories - best home-made costume and best purchased/professional costume.

DJ Del Boy will be playing tunes from the bandstand along with children's activities and a magic show.

There will also be games, rides, a real owl and owl talk, Thriller dance classes in the Nest  and facepainting.

Steph Purser, vice chair of the Friends, said: "We wanted to organise a fun day to bring people out into the park in autumn.

"Hopefully it will be a lovely autumn day with all the various coloured leaves in the park.

"It's going to be fantastic, a real celebration of autumn in Page Park."

The Friends are looking for anyone who would like to set up a stall linked to autumn, pumpkins or nature. They are also keen to enlist the skills of a pumpkin carver.

Anyone who is interested should contact the Friends via their website www.friendsofpagepark.co.uk
