Record success for Bristol Rock Centre students
Published on: 28 May 2016
Students from Bristol Rock Centre were celebrating their success this week, after a record number passed their nationally-recognised music exams.
A total of 24 students gained their music qualifications after taking exams at the independent music school in Mangotsfield. There were 11 guitar students, seven bass students and six drum students, who achieved one Pass, 22 Merits and one Distinction.
Twelve-year old Kieron Rana, who gained an 83 per cent pass mark in Grade 2 Drums, said, “I’m really happy and glad I got a Merit. Now that I’ve passed Grade 2, I can get straight on with Grade 3”. He put his success down to the enjoyment he gains learning drums with his BRC tutor, Joe Bradley, as well as his own determination and regular practice.
Bristol Rock Centre provides tuition in guitar, bass guitar, drums and vocals, puts on regular music workshops and gigs, and is an accredited examination centre for Rockschool – the national rock and pop music exam board.
