THREE roads in Downend are set to be resurfaced to be made safer

South Gloucestershire councillors have voted in favour of spending £23,400 on improving parts of Queensholm Crescent, Glendale and Church Lane.

Dowend and Bromley Heath parish councillor Sheila Ottewell said: "The roads are in very poor condition and are in need of urgent attention."

A report says the work would make the roads safer, reducing the likelihood of accidents and claims against the authority.

Council officers will have the final say on whether to release the cash under the New Homes Bonus grant, but it is likely they will approve the plans.
