SENIOR citizens in Emersons Green will benefit from a £250 donation towards a nosh up.
Sainsbury’s handed over the money to Emersons Green Village Hall where it will be used to towards the cost of a lunch.
The cash was given as part of the store’s community budget scheme which helps charitable groups in the community.
The money has been raised through sales of ‘Bags for Life’.
Paul Robertson, Sainsbury’s Emersons Green store manager, said: “Our store is at the heart of the local community and it is important that we can do as much as we can to support it. When we heard about Emersons Green Village Hall, we were really pleased to be able to help out.”
Last year the community budget scheme provided £135,000 worth of donations, nominated by depot and store managers and colleagues from stores nationwide.
