MOVE over Len and Darcey - the real Strictly stars are local residents James Phillips and Sharon Herniman.
The pair were crowned king and queen of the dance floor at a charity competition organised by law firm Burges Salmon in Bristol.
Five couples took part in the Movie Night themed event in the firm’s atrium to raise money for Julian House.
James, a partner in the firm, and Sharon, management PA, topped the leaderboard with their cha cha cha to Flashdance’s What a Feeling.
The event has raised over £40,000 with money still coming in.
Sharon, who lives in Bromley Heath, said that despite dance lessons and months of practice she found the competition terrifying.
“I was very much out of my comfort zone, but we had huge support including many friends from the local area who donated to our JustGiving site,” she said.
Chair of Burges Salmon’s Charity of the Year committee, Will Woodall, said: “The dancers were all amazing and everyone involved has helped to raise such a significant amount for the wonderful work that Julian House undertakes across the south west.”
Alexis Woodward, area funding manager at Julian House, said: “I’ve never been to an event so well supported across the whole company, it really was truly amazing.”
Julian House operates more than 20 different projects, accommodation sites and social enterprises in Bath, Bristol, South Gloucestershire, Wiltshire and Devon. These include: a range of homeless services, support for those suffering domestic violence, addiction recovery support – as well as work experience and training.
