'Speculative' urban village proposals are slammed

Published on: 28 Jul 2017

A PROPOSAL for an "urban village' on 800 acres west of Pucklechurch, which many suspect is linked to the new link road  plans, was described by Mr Skidmore and Mr Hall as a "speculative' attempt to build on the Green Belt, which must be opposed.

A "vision document" has emerged for a development of 2,600 homes between the village and Lyde Green. It has been submitted by Colliers International as part of the West of England Joint Spatial Plan consultation process.

Mr Hall told more than 200 residents at the Pucklechurch meeting that the link road options were completely untenable and had to be stopped because they risked opening up the area to more housing.
