Straight A*s for QEH high-fliers

MORE than 10 per cent of students  at Queen Elizabeth’s Hospital (QEH) are taking up places at Oxbridge this autumn.
Among  them are Michael Savery, who achieved four A* grades in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics and will study Mathematics at Cambridge University (Queens’ College);   Max Yuen who will read History at Brasenose College, Oxford, having achieved straight A* grades in English Literature, Latin and History; and George Gibbs, who is also celebrating straight A* grades and will study Medicine at Birmingham University.
The school is celebrating after another set of outstanding A-Level results with the highest number of A* grades the school has seen to date - almost 30 per cent.
Headmaster Stephen Holliday said:  “In a year when we are signing up our first cohort of Sixth Form girls, I am delighted to once again see success across all areas of the curriculum.”
