Suited and booted for Zulu dance

PUPILS from Gracefield School in Fishponds donned wellies to take part in a special Zulu dance with youngsters from South Africa.
The visitors were from the Project Zulu choir who are touring the UK as part of the 2015 World Cup to raise money to build new classrooms in KwaZulu-Natal.
They taught Gracefield pupils traditional songs and dances culminating in a special joint presentation to parents of The Gumboot Dance, a dance performed in wellington boots.
Gracefield School has previously supported Project Zulu through various fundraising activities.
Year 6 teacher, Mr Gunter, a trustee of the project, has close links to the children following his experience teaching in the Madadeni township in 2012.
Headteacher, Mrs Morgan, said: “Our children had a wonderful time learning vibrant dance routines with the Zulu children. It is an excellent way for our school to link with a worthwhile project that helps the development of educational facilities in another country.”
