BRITAIN’S armed forces will be celebrated later this month at a special event at Page Park.

Armed Forces Day is a tribute to past, present and future men, women and cadets who serve their country.

The event, which takes place on Saturday June 29, is expected to attract hundreds of people.

A veterans’ parade, marching bands and military vehicles will assemble at Kendall Road at 11am, marching off at 11.25am and finishing in the park.

There will be performances, stalls and activities for all members of the family which will continue until 4pm.

A drum head ceremony will be officiated by the Rev Peter Huzzey in the park at 12.10pm.

Armed Forces Day features events across the UK. This year’s national event takes place in Nottingham, find out more at
