Thankful for harvest blessings

 Harvest

IT was a community affair when men, women and children came together at Christ Church Downend to count their blessings.

As part of the church's harvest celebrations pupils, parents and staff from Christ Church infants and juniors went along to special mid week services.

Scouts, Cubs, Beavers, Brownies, Rainbows and Guides, along with their leaders and families, also joined members of Christ Church at services, bringing along gifts of non-perishable food.

The celebrations also included an annual harvest supper evening hosted by the church's Fellowship group.

Christ Church member Helen Barnett said: "Many thanks to everyone for their generous food donations which will be divided between St James’ Priory, who work with the homeless in the city centre, and our Christians Against Poverty debt counselling service at Christ Church, who give out food parcels."
