ON Monday 5th August, after much anticipation, Dr Tim Button of Cleve Chiropractic and his business partner, Emma Hunter, finally held the opening of Next Step to great fanfare. Many sporting celebrities came to support the opening and the ribbon was cut by Katrina Hart. Kat is a GB Paralympian - she is the former 100m World Champion and won a bronze medal at the London 2012 Olympics.

Also supporting Kat was Ben Rushgrove who won Silver in Beijing and Bronze in the London Paralympic 100m, Cameron Walker-Shepherd - a GB Pole Vaulter, Ed Smith - a GB skeleton athlete going to Sochi for the winter Olympics and finally Kate Grey - a BBC TV and radio presenter and former Paralympic Swimmer.

Kat gave a warm and humorous speech outing all of the work that Tim has done to help her and her colleagues, to help injuries and promote performance at the elite level.

Tim followed that speech with one of his own, thanking the many people that came to have a look and show support. Tim commented, “So many people came that they flowed out onto the street at times!”

“We were blown away by the show of support from the people of Mangotsfield, Downend, Emersons Green and beyond”

“Everybody was really keen to meet some of the Athletes who would be using the gym and find out how it could benefit them also”

“People were particularly interested in the Anti-gravity running machine, which is normally only available to the likes of Premiership Footballers and elite athletes, and what classes would be available”

Next Step will be providing a variety of exercise classes to the public adding more and more as the month’s progress. Also available are exercise rehabilitation sessions, personal training, strength and conditioning, Pilates and of course, the state of the art, anti-gravity running machine. Next step uses all of the latest research and equipment to provide a ‘high class’ exercise centre at great value.
