A FAMILY’S campaign to raise £100,000 in memory of Downend boy Jack Banks is on the home stretch.
His mum Paula said last week that the fund, to pay for a playroom and conservatory at Bristol Children’s Hospital, now stands at £91,575.
It received a boost of more than £2,500 from a sponsored headshave by 12-year-old Ashleigh Lovell, of Downend, and has also had contributions following a skydive by family friend Gemma.
Another friend, Tori Jay, plans to run the Bristol Half Marathon this month foir the fund.
Meanwhile, Osborne Clarke made Jack’s Star Tribute Fund, which is part of the hospital’s Wallace and Gromit Grand Appeal, its charity of the year and has raised more than £7,000, with more efforts planned.
Paula said the family were hugely grateful for all the support. The next big event is a pop star themed fancy dress party at Pomphrey Hill sports pavilion on October 17.
