MEET Tom Beasley - the new face heading up the cutting edge Bristol and Bath Science Park in Emersons Green.
Tom is the former director of projects and strategic development at South Gloucestershire and Stroud College, where he led the team responsible for securing £26.5m funding to support development of the Gloucestershire Science & Technology Park.
He also managed the pre-opening phase of the new University Technical College (UTC) which is due to open in 2017.
Tom will be responsible for the marketing and letting of the Innovation Centre, providing forums and opportunities for existing business to network and collaborate.
He said: “I have joined at a very exciting time. There are around 40 enterprises based here involved in advancing cutting edge developments in science, technology and engineering.
“These disciplines will play a critical role in sustaining and growing the economy and give the UK a competitive edge in the global marketplace.
“It’s my job to ensure both the local and the wider community knows just what the Science Park has to offer and how our services can be maximised.”
Bristol and Bath Science Park opened in 2011 as a hub for innovation and high tech research, providing a hothouse environment for pioneering science and technology businesses to develop and grow.
Phase 1 is now nearing capacity and is home to around 40 growing businesses.
